LOVE

A Westie Highlander resting at a sofa.

doggy ode

In the quiet of dawn, when dew-kissed grass awaits,

A loyal heart stirs, wagging tales of fate.

The dog, a faithful sentinel, by our side,

With eyes that hold galaxies, secrets they confide.

Their paws trace ancient paths, etched

in loyalty,

Through meadows and moonlight, they

dance with glee.

In their gaze, we find solace, a love unspoken,

A language beyond words, hearts forever unbroken.

They chase sunbeams and shadows, wild and free,

Yet return to our heart, where love's fire burns

fiercely.

Their fur, a soft canvas for whispered dreams,

Their presence, a symphony of joy, it seems.

When tears fall like rain, they nuzzle our sorrow,

Their empathy boundless, a promise for tomorrow,

In their eyes, we glimpse eternity's

embrace,

A bond forged in paw prints, time

cannot erase.

So here's to the dogs, our companions

true,

Their love, a masterpiece painted in

hues.

In this dance of devotion, side by side

we roam,

Forever entwined-dogs and humans-heart and home

The Rainbow Bridge

A bridge representing "crossing the Bridge" where pets go after they die.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

Bridge of Canine Dreams

An Australian Terrier and a Westie Highlander running.

“Bridge of Canine Dreams” Amidst rolling hills and babbling brooks, there stood a quaint stone bridge—the kind that seemed to have sprung from the pages of a fairy tale. Its arches were adorned with moss, and wildflowers peeked through the cracks in the ancient stones. On one side of the bridge, a spirited Australian Terrier named Shekou stood poised, his wiry coat catching the sunlight. Shekou’s eyes sparkled with anticipation as he gazed across the water. His tail wagged like a metronome, urging him forward. And on the other side, a dignified White Scottish Terrier named Lexy awaited his friend. Lexy was all elegance, her snowy fur contrasting beautifully against the greenery. Her ears perked up, listening for the sound of paws on the cobbled path. The bridge itself seemed to hold its breath, knowing that something magical was about to unfold. The air smelled of damp earth and promise. And then, as if orchestrated by unseen hands, Shekou and Lexy took their first steps. They ran toward each other, hearts racing, fur flying. Their paws danced across the ancient stones, creating a rhythm that echoed through the valley. The sun dipped low, casting long shadows on the water below. As they met in the middle, noses Bridge of Canine Dreams” (Continued) As Shekou and Lexy met in the middle of the bridge, their noses touched—a delicate, whiskery connection that sent ripples through their hearts. The world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for the magic to unfold. Shekou, with his boundless energy, twirled around Lexy. His tail wagged like a metronome on overdrive. “Lexy,” he panted, “I’ve dreamt of this moment! The bridge, the sun, and you—I feel like we’re characters in an ancient legend.” Lexy, ever the dignified one, chuckled. “Ah, Shekou,” she said, “legends are born from such encounters. Our love story will echo through the reeds and ripple across the water. But tell me, my dear friend, why did you choose this bridge?” Shekou’s eyes sparkled. “Because,” he whispered, “this bridge is a portal. It connects our worlds—the land and the water. And when we leap together, we’ll create a bridge not just for us but for all creatures who dare to love beyond boundaries.” Lexy nodded, understanding dawning in her emerald eyes. “Then let us leap,” she said. “Let our love be the bridge that unites frogs and fish, lilies and reeds.” And so, hand in paw (or rather, fin in paw), they leaped. Shekou’s sleek body soared into the air, sunlight catching his scales. Lexy’s legs stretched, propelling her upward. Together, they breached the surface, suspended between water and sky. The other creatures watched, their hearts swelling. The fish paused mid-swim, the dragonflies hovered, and even the ancient turtle craned its neck. The bridge itself seemed to shimmer, its stones humming with joy. And then, with a splash that echoed through eternity, Shekou and Lexy plunged back into the water. Their love had created a ripple—a bridge of light that connected their worlds. Luna, the moon, peeked through the clouds, her silver gaze approving. From that day on, the bridge became a meeting place for love-struck creatures. Frogs serenaded fish, and dragonflies danced with tadpoles. And Shekou and Lexy? They swam and leaped, their love story etched into the very fabric of the pond. So, if you ever find yourself near a moss-covered bridge, listen closely. You might hear the faint strains of underwater songs—the serenade of the silvery fish and the frolicking frog, forever entwined in love. And remember, dear reader, that love knows no bounds—even in the depths of a tranquil pond.

And so ends our fable, where love leaped and bridges were built not of stone, but of hearts. 🌟🐟🌈🐸

LOYALTY

An Australian Terrier resting a sofa.

heartfelt ode

In the rugged land of eucaliptus and sun,

Where the red earth whispers tales of old,

There roams a spirit, fierce and true,

The Australian Terrier, brave and bold.

With eyes like opals, keen and bright,

They guard their human's heart with might.

Their coat, a tapestry of earth and sky,

Woven by time, love, and loyalty.

In the rustle of leaves and scent of gum,

They dance alongside their chosen one.

Their paws imprint the sacred ground,

A promise unspoken, forever bound.

Through droughts and storms, they stand tall,

Their loyalty unwavering, hearts enthrall.

They chase shadows and sunsets alike,

Guiding their owner through life's winding hike.

When twilight falls and stars align,

The Australian Terrier whispers a

rhyme:

"From the Outback's heart to yours, my

friend,

Our bond transcends-forever, without end."

Their Story

A Westie Terrier and a Australian Terrier at a park.

In a sun-kissed meadow, where

wildflowers sway,

Two hearts intertwined, in love's sweet ballet.

Shekou, the spirited with eyes full of

glee,

Lexy, the elegant, as white moonlit

sea.

Their paws danced in rhythm, on dew-kissed grass,

Chasing butterflies, weaving dream as they pass,

Shekou's wiry coat, a golden sunbeam's hue,

Lexy's snow fur, like mornings's first dew.

Under moon's tender gaze, secrets they'd share,

Whispers of forever, in twilight's soft air.

Shekou wrote poems with this and wild rhyme,

Lexy sang lullabies, a breeze's sweet

chime.

Through storms and sunsets, they stood side by side,

Shekou's loyalty unwavering, Lexy's

grace and pride.

She lost a tooth, she her food with care,

Her limp, she carried, love's burden they'd bear.

And every evening, as the sun dipped low,

Shekou rested his head on Lexy's snowy

glow.

"Forever," they murmured, hearts

beating true,

In that cozy meadow, love bloomed-just

like dew.

So raise a paw to Shekou and Lexy's tale,

Of muddy adventures and love's endless

trail.

For in their canine hearts, forever

they'll roam,

Two souls entwined, finding home sweet home.

Support your Local Shelters

Dogs on a Bench

There are countless reasons why supporting, donating to, and adopting from your local animal shelter is crucial. Firstly, by doing so, you are helping to save the lives of animals in need. Many shelters are overcrowded and underfunded, making it difficult for them to care for all of the animals that come through their doors. By supporting your local shelter, you are playing a vital role in providing these animals with a safe and loving environment.

Additionally, adopting a pet from a shelter is a wonderful way to give a second chance to a furry friend in need. Many animals in shelters have been abandoned or surrendered by their previous owners, and they are in desperate need of a forever home. By adopting from a shelter, you are not only giving a loving home to a deserving animal, but you are also making space for another animal to be rescued.

Furthermore, supporting your local shelter by donating supplies, money, or your time can make a huge impact on the lives of the animals in their care. Shelters rely heavily on donations and volunteers to keep their operations running smoothly, and every little bit helps. Whether it's donating a bag of food, volunteering to walk dogs, or making a monetary contribution, your support can make a world of difference for the animals in need.

In conclusion, there are so many important reasons to support, donate to, and adopt from your local animal shelter. From saving lives and giving deserving animals a second chance, to providing essential resources and support to the shelter itself, your contribution can truly make a difference. So next time you're looking to add a furry friend to your family, consider adopting from a shelter and help make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need.

An Australian terrier with traits to adorn

Very smart and loyal, his heart so kind

A socialite at heart, with a brilliant mind

With a coat of golden brown, and eyes so bright

She liked to run around, in the open air

Her energy boundless, without a care

Through the backyard fields, she'd happily roam

Her joy infectious, like a lively poem

Her sister Lexy, a Westie Highland Terrier to see

Together they'd play, as happy as can be

Shekou, the leader, with Lexy by her side

Their bond unbreakable, no place to hide

In the California sun, they'd frolic and play

Their loyalty and love, shining every day

Shekou, the socialite, with a heart so true

Lexy, her sister, in every adventure they'd pursue

Their bond of friendship, a treasure so rare

In the California land, a dynamic pair

Shekou's personality, a blend of charm and grace

In every wag of his tail, a warm embrace

So here's to Shekou and Lexy, the duo so fine

In the backyard fields, under the California sunshine

Their loyalty and love, a tale to be told

Of two companions, with hearts of gold.

Dog at the Beach

Until we step into the ligth and we meet again

If you have a dog, you will mos likely outlive it; to get a dog is to open yourself to profound joy and, prospectively, to equally profound sadness.

~ Marjorie Gerber

"You no longer greet me as I walk through the door. You're no there to make me smile, to make me laugh anymore. Life seems quiet without you, you were more than a pet. You were a family member, a friend...a loving soul I'll never forget. It will take time to heal-for the silence to go away. You were such a great companion, constant, loyal and true. My heart will always wear the paw prints left by you.
